Weaving the Web

Today I've worked on the restyling of my website.

You can see the new portal page of this website: it brings you to the three main sections: log (this blog), studio (professional services) and dome (my spare time projects).

To develop it, I've built a 3D scene simulating the physics of falling cubes by Houdini. I've choose that because I wanted to show "natural" disposition of cubes and... because I'd like to try Houdini.

After that I traced out the image by SkecthBook because I needed real handmade stokes and my handwriting.

But the artistic touch (the blackboard effect and all the rest) is a Michelangelo Alesso's gift: thanks!

The long way for the touch - Starting point

Well, my first post is about multitouch tables.
I'm going to make a Diffused Illumination based multitouch table for my laboratory.

Obviusly my first source is the Natural Interaction Group and their guide "Multi-Touch Technologies". I'm freely inspired to the EfeNDy's table.

Welll, my first step is defining the shopping list

  • Box: I'm looking for a IKEA's product like this. I'd like to have a screen size about 80cmx60cm.
  • Projector: Acer X1260P Eco (DLP) (there the projection calculator)
  • IR: 5xEmitter
  • Screen: I've already tested acrylic and white plastic table cloths as a diffuser and it works. I'd like to try a 4mm frosted glass, also.
  • Mirror: a normal thin mirror
  • Fans: 2x120mm standard
  • Cameras: 2xPlayStation3 Eye.I'd like to test a multicamera configuration.
  • Computer: My desktop computer (dual core2, 4gb ram bla bla bla). I'll test it also an my Mac Book Pro.
Ok. First step done! :-)

I just finished installing Movable Type 4!

Welcome to my new blog powered by Movable Type. This is the first post on my blog and was created for me automatically when I finished the installation process. But that is ok, because I will soon be creating posts of my own!
